Julio’s United Kingdom Tour 2011
In November 2011 I will be giving a series of talks in UK, more precisely, 23rd and 24th November in Cambridge and 25th in London. Please contact me if you are in the area and want to come by to one of the meetings, or want to join me for a pint (or more) of beer, talk about science, or world domination. (notice the presence of the Oxford Comma)
November 23rd – Cambridge Chemoinformatics Network
This meeting will be held at the Unilever Centre for Molecular Science Informatics, Chemistry Department, Cambridge University. This event brings together scientists of the Cambridge area that interested in chemoinformatics.
Here I will describe how at the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre we are using chemoinformatics to speed up Metabolite Identification. During the last years we have been building a pipeline of chemoinformatics tools for metabolomics. Some of them have been published and validated individually, but fortunately, we are going to start testing them in combination with each other in the pipeline. The slides should be similar to these ICCS 2011 slides.
If you want to know more please drop by. After the meeting we’ll have some drinks while socializing.

November 24th – Group meeting at Unilever Centre for Molecular Science Informatics
This will be a cozy event for people at Cambridge University. I have been invited by one of my collaborators, Andreas Bender.
I plan to talk in detail about two of the tools I have been developing, the Metabolite-Likeness models and the structure generator. (notice the absence of the Oxford Comma). Hopefully I can get great feedback for the work done, how to use it, and future improvements and applications.

November 25th – Young Modellers Forum 2011
This is a yearly meeting where PhD students working in different areas of chemical modeling get together. Although it is mainly focused at drug discovery, I will present my work on Metabolite-Likeness from the point of view of metabolomics. Maybe it can be useful for people wanting to asses the metabolite-likeness of their leads.
Address: at The Brunei Gallery (London) located between Malet Street and Thornhaugh Street, in the north-west corner of Russell Square. (map)
Since I will be surrounded by English people, this post by Duncan Hull on what English really mean, will come in handy.
